- nymphs feed very well on bramble (Rubus spp.), fern and Lonicera nitida (the latter is a common, evergreen garden plant in Europe)
- adults clearly prefer fern
- incubation time (HH-Methode on slightly damp sand) at room temperature is about 4 months
- males are adult after about 3 months (at room temperatures), females after 3 - 4 months
- about 20 eggs per female and week
