How often do stick insects eat?

Hello, 

I have an Extatosoma Tiaratum, and I've noticed that she doesn't eat sometimes, and this lead me to wondering how often a stick insect needs to eat. I've searched the internet for answers to this question but come up empty handed. Could anyone tell me?

Dear spiny, 

Phasmids need to eat every night. It is important to provide fresh leaves and water.

When they don't eat for a while might indicate that:

1.  They are about to shed. 

2. Somethings wrong with the foodplants. Wrong plant, poisen,... 

3. To much water to drink which gives them al feeling that they are satisfied and no need to eat. 

4. Perhaps they are getting old.
