Breeding, Behaviour
- active mainly during the night
- both males and females can fly very well
- the try to run or fly away when they feel threatened
- eggs (about 6 mm long) are stuck into a substrate, e.g. a thick layer of kitchen paper on the cage floor
- about 5 - 8 eggs per female and week
- for incubation, eggs are best stuck into damp peat or moss
- incubation time about 4 months at 20 - 23 °C
- incubation with the HH-method (on slightly damp sand) works too
- a high humidity (> 70% rH) seems to be important
- one can spray them regularly with chlorine-free water, but the water should dry up again
- if Hypericum is availalble (especially in winter too), then this is an easy species
